Did Anyone Hear About this on 10/14?

I just saw this on my feed. Could be triggering, but this is the only article I found that gives the mental health message within the article, which all news should be adding.

Disney World visitor found dead in park hours after she was reported missing from her Illinois home | The Independent

If you are based in the USA, and you or someone you know needs mental health assistance right now, call the National Suicide Prevention Helpline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). This is a free, confidential crisis hotline that is available to everyone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are in another country, you can go to www.befrienders.org to find a helpline near you.

If you are experiencing feelings of distress or are struggling to cope, you can speak to the Samaritans in confidence on 116 123 (UK and ROI), email jo@samaritans.org, or visit the Samaritans website to find details of your nearest branch.

Yes. @OBNurseNH menioned it that day.

“Several outlets are reporting an incident at CR where someone has either fallen or jumped onto the monorail tracks and has passed away.”

There were a few posts in response, but they were lost in the busyness of whatever else people were talking about.

So sad. Despite my rabid news-reading-habit, I had not heard this story.

How horrible for the people who saw it! I’m getting teary-eyed. Things like this cause me to get overemotional.

WDWNT has the note as well

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988, or chat with a trained counselor through the Lifeline website. In an emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest hospital.

Since none of the news articles are saying it: Good work by Reedy Creek Emergency Services personnel for the quick and safe handling of the situation

There are quite a few reports over different platforms. I saw it a couple days ago. I didn’t see it here though. Such a sad tragedy.
Side Note: The Contemporary gift shop triggered DH once. I walked over to him bawling looking at kids toys. I ushered him to a quiet spot by the windows. Nothing like that before or since. It can hit you.
My heart breaks for this person, her friends and family and anyone that had to be a witness to her demise. It’s so hard.

Glad to hear it. I should have said that I read at least 4 without the note before finding the one I posted. It frustrates me to no end.

Yes, they handled it in a very discrete way, and I’m glad. What a terrible scene to have to go to.
