DHS Early Entry change

Has this been posted yet? Saw mentioned yesterday on TP IG …and experiencing it today.

Everyone EE/Regular enter at same time, then at rides only EE can go during EE time. Already lots of people in line at 7:40 am. Will see how this goes …we are going to go to SDD.

They let us in at 8 am. The scan was when we entered Toy Story land (in our case as we are going to SDD)

Would like to know what your experience is once EE ends.

SDD opened at 8:30, we were off it by 8:37. Then went to TSMM that was 5 mins, turned into just over 10 mins - got paused for some reason. Off at 8:59 am.

I wonder what the rationale is for this. It seems like a lot more work for CMs to do, to police at every ride that is open for EE, vs stopping at the taps.

Our experience with EE at HS late August was strange. Resort guests with EE were directed to the first three bays. Non resort visitors at the remaining entry bays. Simultaneously everyone in including non extra hour visitors were let in the park. We went to Galaxy’s Edge and there were never asked to tap and verify we were resort guests.

Prior to this week, non EE lined up on the right sides, EE to the left, and only EE was let in early at the Tap points into the park.

Now it appears they let you into each land - so you can access the shops, but not the rides. People going into Toy Story Land had to scan to enter the land, otherwise they had to wait in line to the right. I would think they only need people at 3 points to scan - Toy Story land, Galaxy’s Edge and to ToT/RC. The scan was same as current - only 1 person per party had to scan.

Today was the only day we were going DHS, tomorrow is MK, Saturday AK.

So if someone is taking advantage of EE for a purpose other than boarding a ride, they loose out?

And per TP back to regular early entry today  Must have been trial run.

Give me a “for instance” on that. What would you be wanting to use EE advantage for if not accessing attractions?

Sure …

Purchase drinks and pastries at Main Street Baker w/o waiting in an insanely long line; Find a quite place to consume our purchase; leisurely shop on Main Street; walk back to Adventure Land without being run over by a rope drop horde. Basically I want to enjoy a morning in the park with as minimal a crowd as possible.

It sounds like you can do these things, you just can’t access attractions

Kind of like Main Street USA - anyone can get in well before rope drop for day guests, but only onsite guests can get magic-banded through to the lands from the hub

Unless I’m misunderstanding

But EE is only 30 minutes… so you wouldn’t ever get “a morning” like that

I think what they’re saying is that they would want to enjoy their coffee or whatever without offsite guests also being able to access the coffee line, making it longer. But I think that EE rope has always been after Main Street (meaning offsite could get coffee), at least as far back as I remember.

I don’t remember how it is / was in HS.

I was a little annoyed at this test and I’m personally glad that they changed it back. The 30 minutes is so short anyway but on the rides you have at least an extra few minutes as people have to get from the front to trickle into the queue. If they do it this way then off site guests are literally getting into the lines at exactly the 30 minute mark. So no more hustling into another line at like 9:02.

This has worked partuclarly well for me at HS. I have jumped into the MMRR line, after riding 1-2 rides on Sunset, withbthe regular entry crowd 2 minutes behind me.
