Deluxe It Up - To Infinity & Beyond!

Checked National Car Rental again today and the price dropped another $15, so cancel and rebook-o-matic.

Also booked the Sunshine Flyer back to the Swan from the rental drop off at MCO, which coincidentally, is $15 with the current summer discount so I am calling that FREE, BABY.

I did find some NYS National car rental corporate codes - one from a state university (of which I am not a part of) had a regular code that is supposed to be used for either business or employee leisure rentals that got me the same exact discount my Amex Plat status does.

That code is for when employees use their own card. There was another code for when you used a company credit card - and that price was HALF of the rate I have now. But, really not feeling trying that out and finding some sort of snafu comes up or if it even would let me try to use a personal card, anyway.

Think I’ll just keep checking National - if they keep lowering the price, I’ll keep rebooking!

We used these in Kauai this year on our doors off helicopter tour. They do work, no one lost a phone.

Temporary Nostalgia Moment

My Facebook memories told me 10 years ago today we arrived at POR Orleans for our first family trip. It was a 2nd attempt after the previous year’s trip had been postponed due to my DW’s BC diagnosis. (10 years cancer free!)

DW and I had not been to WDW since 1996.

It was a great trip.

That’ll teach little Suzy on my right to try sneaking into my family photo.

Showing their feelings that Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was still under construction.

My natural hair color.

And perhaps 2 of the most classic photos from that trip:

Just. So. Hot.

Listening to the CRT announcement, she just realized she was about to meet Snow White.

Now: Back to our regular programming…

Getting my buns in gear to combine a bunch of Disney gift cards purchased over time… MICKEY IS MOCKING ME.

Still have the special gift card they gave us for our room rebate during the CBR construction.

Don’t spend that $1.74 all in one place.

And that’s $1.74 in 2015 dollars, so really worth about $1.

It is a unique card with construction Mickey on it, so I kept it around for fun, when we used it in park all the CMs got excited because they’ve never seen it before!

This has been a bummer on our trip this week. We have an e-card that we’ve been trying to transfer to our one physical card. When I called for help transferring, they would only do it if I could tell them the purchase location and original amount on the physical card, which we’ve had for several years so I have no clue! I mean, I’m trying to put money ON the card, not take from. Such a pain. Hopefully they’ll get it sorted out soon but I don’t have high hopes based on how long it’s been an issue now.

That is CRAZY. I have about 15 smaller $ cards to combine, there is no way I know which one was bought where and I bought most of them in the last year.

Maybe a work around for you would be to buy a $25 card somewhere then move onto that?
I haven’t tried calling in yet to transfer, was hoping they’d just fix it.

I was able to transfer e-cards onto a physical card using the online site.

That’s our plan if they don’t get it fixed soon. We’re headed home today but going to Disneyland next month so definitely need a solution before then!

I’m the last few days? The last time I was able to do a transfer online was Tuesday.

Last time was probably about a month ago. Last week I could log in with my email and password, but the site would never send me the code like it was supposed to so I couldn’t actually get to my account to see my stored cards. I contacted support, and their answer was my profile didn’t exist. Last Monday, I tried again (same profile/email as before), and I finally got the email code like I was supposed to. Maybe the transfer will spontaneously start working again for you too.

My first transfer yesterday morning from an old ecard already on the site to a new $25 physical card I just uploaded worked. After that no variation of cards worked. :frowning:

The problem this week is system-wide, which I’m sure is giving the CMs on the phone a run for our money.

So as of right now, even buying a new card doesn’t seem to solve the problem?

I have only tried online so far, but I’m hoping a CM on the phone might work based on their asking you for that card info?

I’m just back from buying a boatload of GCs at various stores I had discounts for, so once I get my ducks in a row I’m planning to try calling. Will report back!

Bad news: They asked me the original balance and where it was purchased for EVERY card, not just the one you were transferring to.

I was lucky because most of my cards came in through shopDisney, but I have other random cards mixed in. I told the CM I’ve been buying these cards for over a year from multiple places - she said I can can guess multiple stores and she’ll keep trying the card to see if one works.

So, I suppose if you can try typical stores you’ve shopped at. Was a pain though.

CM also did not seem to understand the site was broken - she asked me if I tried multiple times and I explained it has a message right at the top of the page and I’ve been trying to transfer all weekend hoping they fixed it.

So, sending good vibes into the universe they fix it soon, I do not want to read out the GC numbers for 25 different $50 GCs to a rep that couldn’t hear me.
