We had a 7AM tee time at the Palm yesterday, was absolutely beautiful. Temps and intermittent cloud cover were amazing. Course was in great shape. I lost a lot of balls.
We thought we might do a sunset 9 tonight after moving over to Dolphin - but at some point last night my son saw there was a miniature golf course here and suggested we might just check things out around here and play a round there. We ended up doing that and had a blast.
I stopped into the pro shop over there on Sunday. It’s much nicer than the shop at SSR. But it still really chaps me how small the ladies section is compared to what they hav for men
Glad to know you had such a nice time on that course. LBV is closed for a much needed refurb so I am considering Palm or Magnolia for our next round. You mentioned losing a lot of balls - would you say it’s a tougher course than LBV?
I think the short game is probably much tougher, there’s a lot of sand around the greens. There’s a few holes you just have to lay up or go over the water with precision.
Neither is me.
And my drives were just tailing a lot and going off into woods. If You can keep it straight and steady it’s a very playable course. I just need to get myself in order, this was literally my first swing since the last time we played down here. Loved it.
Starting the day on a swing bench in the sand in front of Beach Club with a cranberry scone and a coffee. Going to get some steps in afterwards around the lake.
We were leaving Shades of Green one morning Dec 2024 when my cousin noticed a bird she didn’t know. Between the sun and distance her bird app couldn’t help her.
Tho I was navigating I glanced at the bird long enough to recognize stork. (Lots of construction at the SoG exit at that time).
My cousin was in disbelief. That’s a stork? Which was my first reaction as well. Odd birds.
We’ve been meaning to do Fairways for decades (we’re not golfers ) but haven’t. We were really really going to fit it in on our 2025 trip but the course was closed.
