Crazy? Dining plan question

Doing a 2 night split stay with 1 night at Kidani and 1 night at Grand Floridian for my birthday next month and I think it would actually work out really well to do a QS Dining plan on night 1 and a reg dining plan on night 2 but I think it might be a hassle to use the plan on the middle day but I just had a crazy idea… so I need to know if y’all think it’s too crazy or it just might work?

My idea is to change Sister number 1 to the lead guest on day one and put Sister 2 and another adult on the reservation but not myself. Then on night 2, I’ll be the lead guest and put Sister 2 and another adult on the reservation but not Sister 1. That way, the dining plan credits can be controlled independently and it shouldn’t affect extra evening hours or early entry because we’d all be covered under check in/check out days for our 1 park day.

The Dining Plan can only be purchased as part of a Vacation Package; the length the Dining Plan must match the number of nights on the reservation; the Dining Plan must be purchased for everyone on the reservation; the package must include tickets which often requires a minimum of 2 days for everyone on the reservation. Unless you find a workaround for the minimum 2 day tickets you will have a excess of ticketed days which would cost more than paying for meals out of pocket.

Are you not planning on not listing the 4th person on each reservation?

They are DVC reservations and doesn’t require tickets to add the dining plan to either night. There are only 3 of us total, the only reason for the “other” adult is to actually have credits for all 3 of us for both nights but have a person on each reservation who isn’t on the other to control the credits so that we don’t run into issues on our middle day when we’re in the parks. So basically night 1 have person A, B, and C on the reservation then night 2 have person B, C, and D on the reservation. Person A “pays” for all food using credits from night 1 and person D “pays” for all food using credits from night 2. Person C won’t actually be traveling with us. Aaaannnddd that’s why I say it might be too crazy

This isn’t true.
You can call to do a ticketless package that includes only room and dining plan.
It retains the rules of other packages around required deposit, date of final payment due, and refunds or penalties.

There is this, too!

I think the only way the numbers make sense is if you can maximize the plan, and include the refillable mug. Since you are paying for the $22 mug twice, are you losing a lot of money?

I never even include the mug in my calculations because I would never buy one when not on the plan. I’m still chewing on the options so it still may not even happen for both nights. Definitely will for the second night though because the TS credit for the reg plan is 1900PF and that’s $58 plus a $15-20 cocktail leaves me with only $13-$17 to break even on my QS and snack so very easy lol
