Yay!
Yay!
I think itās the Space220 Lounge that is the challenge. The restaurant is pretty easy now - the prix fixe turns a lot of people off.
I keep checking to make sure they havenāt gone āOops! We made a mistake with your cabin assignment! Hereās a 6B for you.ā ![]()
DCL actually did that to me on my cruise. I had a very specific 7A room on The Dream, one with a very small obstruction. Very last minute, they reassigned me to one of the worst 7A rooms on the ship. But since I booked with a TA, said agent had to call in for me. And this was on the last day to change or cancel without penalty. After 5 hours talking with DCL, he finally got me a GTY-V. Like I didnāt care at that point, it was $450 cheaper than the junk room I was given.
I asked for the difference to be placed as on board credit, because I knew I was going to spend it. Initially, they did, but then I think someone changed it to a refund, on 4 different Gift Cards, just to spite me ![]()
Iād changed from an Ocean View on Deck 7 to a 6B GTY (at least Deck 6 or 7 veranda). Yesterday they assigned me 11508, which is a 4A!!
When they do last-minute changes like you had, itās because there is something going on with the cabin you booked that requires it to be taken out of service (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Wow! Love it! ![]()
I was told the same thing about the room change when it happened. I still wasnāt happy that they told me with less than 24 hours to be able to do anything about it.
Iām glad the TA went to bat for me, but I like fighting my own battles like this, so I decided to do all the booking myself from that point forward.
I had to stifle a scream when I saw it - didnāt want to make anyone in the building think I was being murdered or something. ![]()
Understood. They donāt want to do it, but sadly sometimes it happens. TAs definitely have their advantages and disadvantages. Mine is pretty awesome - but the one time I went rogue and booked a RCCL cruise on my own, then wanted to change it and it was just a nightmare, I was like āNever again going rogue.ā (Basically there was a higher deposit required, which had I been told that when I made the change to begin with Iād never have made the change - and it would have likely been cancelled in 3 days anyway because of that. I only knew I needed to put more down as a deposit because I called to change cabins and that agent said I still owed money on the deposit. I feel like my TA would have been on top of that - and Iām 99% sure she would have immediately said āYouāll need another $250 to add onto the depositā.)
As long as Iām paying the proper amount of money by the end, Iām not too terribly concerned about the deposits. Like when they have the āhalf off depositā event, I yawn, because everyone has to eventually pay that money, anyway.
It was really more that the first RCCL agent I spoke with when I changed the cruise didnāt tell me I owed more for the deposit. Just the change fee. So 3 days later I would have gotten an email saying the cruise had been cancelled because I didnāt pay the deposit.
I literally only knew there was more owed because I called to change the stateroom. THAT RCCL agent said there was no fee to change the stateroom, but I still owed on the deposit.
The lack of clear communication really turned me off and I just cancelled it all together.

May it go by as quickly as Advent!

I should light a candle each week
Are you going to be eating fish on Fridays until then? ![]()
Ideally, I would eat fish even more often than that.
But as I am the only one in my house who does eat fish at all, I wait for being out to eat to have any (which, actually, is often on Fridays but not today)

Lobby level or max of one level up (is that 4??), lefthand wing (whatever that is) to be nearer to pool and parking garage on that end.
Edited: NORTH trail
What kind of room do you have and what view?
