Always fun when it’s time to do that.

Also, it was 27 degrees when I woke up this morning. Time for Florida to remember that it’s Florida!
You know that’s pretty bad considering I woke up to warmer temps in MN this morning. If I had been on vacation in FL when this happened, I would not be very happy. Hoping for a better tomorrow for you!
Today I found out as I casually scrolled down through my news app that the Sequoia National park will be CLOSED on the dates I was supposed to stay there.
I called and they confirmed - the park will be closed (hey, thanks for letting me now!
). The 2 night hotel stay was non-refundable, but fortunately they made an exception “only because you live so far away”, the lady said.
I’m pretty upset about this. We dreamed about seeing the sequoias for so long… remember @stlouie ?
We arrive in LA Thursday and our Disneyland stay starts Sunday. No sequoias for us … Now what? ![]()

That’s aweful! Is there somewhere else in the somewhat area you would be interested in? What’s your actual dates?

April 6-April 9. Any good parks in LA for us to visit? I checked Yosemite but it looks like it will also be semi-closed. Not worth the drive.
I suggested Vegas to see the canyon, but DH says No. I’m not allowed to get close to any theme park until 4/9.
Maybe the beach…? Malibu?
Drive down to San Diego? Do the LA touristy things? Go to that other park out there?
Thank you. We will find something to do…
We need trees
! Nature!
No Hollywood or Beverly Hills this time.
I so sorry they will still be closed when you come to CA!
DH and I were just recalling that it and its northern neighbor, Yosemite, are closed because of snow. We are having a record year of rain and snow in CA, which is great for our water supplies and for winter sports but terrible if you are visiting for outside CA for other things! Perhaps consider skiing or snowboarding?
It’s spring and we are still dipping into the 30’s in the San Francisco Bay Area. So many people are complaining about their energy bills.
Would you consider San Diego/La Jolla, about 80 miles south of DLR? If DH won’t do another amusement park, San Diego/La Jolla has beaches including Coronado and La Jolla (don’t know how warm it will be in a few weeks), a resident year round population of seals and sea lions, Cabrillo National Park, and Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. It has yummy food, too! DD lives in San Diego and we go there often.
That’s what I suggested!
Oooh! I will look these up. I’m not too excited about La Jolla because I was there this past January…
Not DH and the kids, but if we could find something none of us have done, it would be better

It’s a great suggestion. I live streamed the seals for DD10 to see.
Are these the seals at La Jolla Cove?
We loved hiking at Big Bear!
Yes!!
La Jolla Cove is in La Jolla!

If you go, I highly recommend Bobboi for gelato.
You can walk there from the Cove.
We also love Taco Stand in La Jolla. You need to drive there.
Cabrillo and Torrey Pine are all in La Jolla? Looks like it …
San Diego.
This looks amazing!!! I’m sending this link to DH for review and approval -
Thank you!
