I always tell clients that connecting rooms are not guaranteed unless you have more kids than disney allows in one room. We don’t have that, but we do want 2 bathrooms, and I’m not finding 2 bedrooms (or even 1 brs) in the resorts I’m interested in.
So I’m curious. Have you ever requested connected rooms? If so, for which resort(s)? What was your party mix (# of adults vs kids)? Did you get them? If not, why do you think (method of submitting request, time of year, popular resort)?
Secondhand knowledge welcome as well.
I just want someone to gift me a copper creek cabin for a week, preferably with the monorail directly outside the door. Thanks!
I’ve asked for connecting room once at Pop and got it. I booked the rooms by calling and asked that we have a connecting room with my parents. Room one day me, DH and my two kids. Room two had my parents.
The other time I wanted two rooms NEXT to each other at Pop. One room had me, DH, and two kids–16 and 12, and the other room had DS who was 23 at the time. I sent in a TP request and had my TA ask for two rooms next to each other that did not connect. We were granted that request.
In these two cases, we were dealing with adults in the second room, not children, and had the request met.
December 2025; Yacht Club; 3 rooms; 2 rooms connecting and other room nearby; successful; built request using Touring Plans Room Finder and submitted via 3 simultaneous Touring Plans Trips (1 plan for each room confirmation number)
We did connecting studios at Poly in 2023 instead of a 2 bedroom somewhere else. I had read that there were many studios that connected, so I wasn’t very concerned. It was the primary request we had. We had 4 kids and 4 adults.
I’m sure this depends on how many connecting rooms there are in your category. I know Pop has plenty where AoA doesn’t. It could be worth checking the TP room finder to see what the resort looks like. The more connecting rooms, the greater the chance of the request being met.
