Tends to be “dusk” but I think the sign always says “5:30” for what time the last safari truck pulls away.
In July/August, Sunset doesn’t occur until after 8 pm, so seems unlikely.
I had BC/VGF with that!! I think we had a small overlap iirc. I was so not happy.
It was ridiculous!
Disney has been doing this forever
Back in 1994 we arrived at MK at the same early morning approx time we arrived in 1990 and were let in.
(We in 1990 were only 4 while in 1994 we were 11).
This was before security screening.
Some old geezer stopped us in front of the landscaping below the train station as we were on our way to the turnstiles. He asked what we were doing and when I said we were going to be let in early, he said we never did that.
Ok idiot old guy - we went to Chef Mickey’s which had about two folks eating there. (Not where it is today) Had a blast with the characters - big surprise to y’all, I know. And then went into MK and had more fun.
don’t tell me you never did that, I’ve got notes and it ain’t my first rodeo
Things are definitely always changing, so I know it should be expected.
In this case, I think the challenge for me is that EEH are a benefit for staying Deluxe - and a benefit should be somewhat predicatable. My biggest frustration with the AK EEH is how early it is and how few things are open.
In this case I might have booked at ASS and bought the HS after hours ticket instead.
Would agree, because many people book a particular location for a particular EEH (like you!)
All of this
Agreed
It is worse than that. Disney is currently set up to encourage/incentivize careful planning ahead … and then Disney messes with the careful plans.
This has been an “argh!”-inducing sentiment I’ve had with Disney for years. I’ve had to settle into “acceptance” on this matter, though, since there is nothing to be done about it. (Having said that, there have been a few recent changes that have helped, such as changing the 180 days ADR booking window down to 60 days, etc.)
That does stink since Magic kingdom EEH are worth way more than animal kingdom. I think last year when Halloween parties started they changed EEH to HS. We’re going in October and staying at Boardwalk so hope they announce soon if that’s going to happen so I can plan accordingly!
Are Mondays EEH always at Epcot?
The plans are clearly to run the evening parade twice, at least during busy times - which includes the first few weeks after opening at least.
For as long as that continues, which might also include the non party days through to December, they won’t be able to have EEH at MK. Or not without staffing the park until 3am (an hour after EEH would have to finish).
If that’s the case, DHS would probably be a better option than AK for many guests. But there again, they can sell a lot of After Hours tickets for DHS …… so I’m not sure if they’d do many EEH nights there.
I wouldn’t mind so much if more rides like KJ or KRR were available and if it were later into the night where you could enjoy tree of life awakenings and a walkthrough of pandora. I miss the nighttime show. It was beautiful and so calming.
Wait. It is? I definitely missed that!
I sure hope they figure out how they can because they are going to have a lot of very unhappy people have planned based on the current model (EP mon, MK wed) and a parade - no matter how cool or how much we’ve been wanting it - is not going to alleviate that frustration.
I posted somewhere that HEA is moving to 10pm from early July (6th maybe?).
Strong reason to think that’s to allow a parade to run before & after.
