Cancelled Trip :(

Having to cancel really sucks! I’m glad you got your refund!! I hope you find another job right away!

I’ve been laid off before and know what a shock it can be! Hopefully, your next job will be even better! :hugs: :hugs:

That’s so awful on so many levels. I’m sad you have to cancel the trip. But more sad that you have to have the uncertainty of being unemployed and job hunting. I hope this is a case of “when one door closes, another door opens” and you find something great. Maybe you’ll look back on this as a blessing in disguise! :people_hugging:

The heart I put on your post is a hug. I have been through two layoffs in my career and understand how tough it is. Stay encouraged! When one door closes …

Wise person - not getting deep in debt. Disney will be there bigger better - and more expensive - when you get a new job and enough vacation time to make a decent trip. Best of luck.

I’m so sorry you had to make that awful decision! You are a strong person, doing the right thing. I hope you are able to find a new job soon. Big hug.

Sorry about your job and cancelling your trip! Fingers crossed you find something quickly. My husband was also laid off last week, and we have to cancel our December trip as well. Thankfully, I had not booked it yet as I was planning to last weekend.

After 6 months & over 500+ applications, I FINALLY found a new job that starts next week!!! Was starting to really have self doubts and hated that it took so long, but kept positive and telling myself that “the right job will present itself when I least expect it”, which it did.

It’s been rough, but I know I’m not the only one out there experiencing this. The layoff wasn’t personal or performance, it was just business, which I had to keep reminding myself of that. Staying positive was starting to get challenging entering into month 6, but it was worth it in the end. There was a job out there, I just had to be persistent and patient.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

That’s great news! I’m sure those six months felt like loooong. But good for you for sticking with it and finding a new opportunity! I hope on-boarding is smooth and stress-free! And may you find a way to get back to the magic soon!

We had to cancel a 2018 WDW trip for finances (our first time was 2016 and we had thought we’d go every other year) and through a whole bunch of cancellations and re-bookings finally ended up taking that trip in March 2023 (and it was a very amazing combo WDW/Cruise/UOR trip with cousins).

So happy your vacation plans are back on track so much sooner!!! And excited to hear about them!

Seriously. It’s not easy finding even entry level jobs nowadays. Young people cant walk in and ask for applications anymore. And its too easy for everyone to bombard employers with resumes online.
I’m so happy it’s finally happened!
Hope those cruises are extra sweet!
