I have my tickets linked to my account. I don’t want to buy magic bands since we are only buying lightening lanes for one day. I want the security of a physical ticket in case my phone dies or something. Can you still get these at the hotel? I thought I could use my old magic band from when they were free, but when i made my lightening lane reservations it didn’t have the profile pics we had chosen from earlier trips so I’m thinking the ticket may not be on my magic band.
Yes, you can get a physical card from your hotel.
As far as old magic bands, if your tickets show in MDE, you can access that ticket media with an old band. My DD still uses an old band from 2019. Can can look in MDE and see which magic bands are on your MDE account.
I hope you are planning on bringing a portable phone charger! You may not have LLs but I imagine you’ll want to check wait times and ride status, mobile order, … and take pictures. WDW is phone battery use intensive!
You can also get physical tickets at the scans and guest services.
Check MDE. Your MB may still be there. You just need to assign it.
Yes I will have a charger with me. I am not a tech person and I don’t want to be one of those at the entrance fumbling with my phone. My bands are still on my account so I’m bringing them to see if they will work.
They will work for anything you tap - entrance, LL, photographers, paying for food or purchases, and opening your door (but sometimes the front desk has to touch it up somehow). They likely won’t work anymore for ride photos or effects (such as displaying your name on IASW) - things that use the longer distance system which use a battery that dies.
Off topic, but I thought I saw Disney removed this feature from IASW…
Nah. The CMs are there to help. The bigger issue is the finger scan! Make sure you use the same finger every time! Even then, it’s always an issue for DH!
That’s me. CMs tell me to press lightly, not so hard. Then it works better. Doh!
Glad it works for you! DH has very dry skin! A flake or two of dry skin may give an inaccurate finger scan!
Honestly I’d be more scared of losing a physical ticket. If you have a phone charger, don’t worry - you’ll need it. Don’t worry about fumbling at the gate.
I only had phone tickets and since my girls don’t have magic bands I wanted them to have tickets. I stoped by the lobby and it took the all of 2 minutes to give me tickets for all of us. And it only took two minutes because his tablet battery died and he had to go get another one.
