Hi all,
This may be a bit of 6 of one, half dozen of another, but I want to maximize our short trip as much as possible. Traveling May 6-10, staying at Swan. Myself and husband, and our young adult son and his girlfriend. We have 3 park days planned for May 7, 8, and 9. 1 day MK, 1 day Epcot, 1 day DHS. Will spring for individual LL and MPLL. In what order would you do the parks? We hope to get up early, take a mid-day break, and go back in the evenings. I have been many times, but never for such a short trip, so I feel pressure to plan as well as possible to try to fit in everything we like on only 3 park days, and to have as “pleasant” a visit as possible. How would you plan Th, Fri and Sat park days? My main concern is the Saturday–what is the least of the evils on that day? And, I guess, along the same lines of thinking–what is the best day for Magic Kingdom, since that is the park that we do the most in? (Epcot will include the festival and Lightning Lanes, so I feel like that one will be pretty doable on any day.) Thanks so much for any suggestions.
Edit: I am tempted to do MK on Saturday if it isn’t a terrible decision, because it will be our latest night, and we can sleep in the next morning, the day of our departure.

I’d go to Epcot on Thursday the 7th, DHS on Friday the 8th, MK on Saturday the 9th. I would buy LL for DHS and not Epcot. Its difficult to get more than one Tier 1 ride with LL at Epcot so I find it’s a waste of money. You can rope drop Remy and then head to Frozen with a shorter wait then head to Soarin. You can do single rider for TT and Remy since you are adults later as well. Buy the LLSP for Guardians.
I would never do DHS without LLs. By putting it on 3rd day of your trip, you’d be buying LLs on day 10 so you should have access to early times to tap in and get MMRR and MFSR as your 4th and 5th LLs. Secure Slinky Dog, TSM, and ToT as your first three. If you don’t mind skipping Fantasmic, you can get in line for Rise at the end of the night. We’ve never waited more than 20 minutes with this strategy.
MK on Saturday currently has a closing time of 10pm. That may get moved to 11pm on a Saturday night.

Thanks! Super helpful. I just learned my son’s gf is really excited about Fantasmic, so I think we will be doing that. We will just pony up for the Rise LL. And I had just edited to say I prefer MK on Sat if it works, so this is great! Your Epcot suggestions are great too. Will definitely do LLSP for Guardians–my new favorite!

I echo this, I would try not to do Epcot during a festival on a weekend if you can.

Welcome to the Forum!
Do consider a Fantasmic dining package to get center seats!

I was just going thru the options, as ideally, I would love to do this. For health reasons, I can’t drink alcohol or soda/sweetened drinks, or large desserts (I can have a small bit.) This makes the package a bit of a fail for me personally. Maybe I shouldn’t worry about that, but I hate the idea of getting 4 adult sized desserts and no salad option, etc. Has anyone been successful at “modifying” the package anywhere? Maybe I should just go with Sci-Fi as a more affordable options? We also have one gf (allergy) diner, which complicates things too!

And, thank you for the welcome!
We usually do the Fantasmic package at Sci-Fi but I don’t think it is a must do. There are a lot of really good seats. We usually grab food from Sunset Blvd and just bring the tray into the theater and eat dinner while we wait. You should be able to save seats to some extent. It’s just a bench so you will have to just kind of take up a lot of space and then be able to communicate to the rest of your party where you are.
I don’t think that Saturday is a day to avoid at MK at all!

I have not tried a package, to be honest, but if you cannot eat a dessert, I don’t see why they wouldn’t allow you to have a salad instead. I have a lot a dietary restrictions, so they usually have to really create a special plate for me regardless. Also, GF is easy at WDW. I wish low-carb was easier there.

If there is a second showing of Fantasmic, that would be the option to pick. It is much less crowded. Dining packages are for the first showing.

I agree with the others. I would probably do Epcot on Thursday, since it can get busy on weekends during festivals. Plus the garden rocks concert on the 10th is 98 Degrees, which might (?) draw a bit of a crowd compared to the other days.
