I do think we read our own tone into posts. To me, this issue is another example of “this is Len’s sandbox and he lets us play in it”. He gets to make the rules, and I appreciate when it when I am told what is negotiable and what is not.

And actually this is sometimes very much highlighted in some of the US to/from Brit posts. Sometimes, irrespective of the use of a common language, we get 'in a dreadful pickle '.
