Last year we rented a car and mostly drove ourselves, but occasionally we used Uber.
This year I’m on my own and I’m not driving so I’m going to need a car service. Uber only gives promos to new accountholders. But I’ve never used Lyft before and I’ve just bagged a $50 credit from them — $10 off my first five journeys!
So my schedule has had all references to Uber replaced with Lyft. There were eleven of them.
I’m sure those that use ride sharing apps all the time already know this, but if you see that Uber has surge pricing, check Lyft and it might not, and vice versa. Last time I was at Disney World I met a friend north of Orlando and when I wanted to come home around 11 or midnight, Lyft was half the price of Uber.
I have both apps installed and will check both, but will obviously want to use my five $10 credits during the week. I keep reading that Lyft’s prices are generally better.
I don’t use either, so I don’t know, but I thought I read somewhere that you have to tip a Lyft driver, but not an Uber driver. Anyone have any experience on this?
You don’t have to tip Lyft drivers (I always do though) but you can do it directly in the app. For the longest time, you could not tip a Uber driver in the app. I think they changed that recently but I boycott Uber so I don’t know.
