So… steak changing to steak…

Some folks have suggested Shula’s has some of the best steak on property (which is subjective, of course). But the main complaint has always been the theme/decor there doesn’t resonate with a lot of folks. I wonder what this new place will look like, and if it will be more visually appealing.

For me, Shula’s isn’t a second thought because it’s not in a true Disney hotel. Nothing against it, it’s just not on my radar

This is basically how I feel. Whenever it comes up I think “that sounds good, I should try it.” But when I’m planning it doesn’t come to mind.

That’s definitely a roadblock it faces!

When we were looking for a nice place to eat in September, we put it on the short list of places. Ultimately, the styling was so blah, we decided against it. Eventually ended up at Flying Fish instead, which is beautiful inside (not to mention attached to our BWV!).

If we weren’t staying at BW or BC/YC, though, it would be completely off our radar as well.

I wonder if Bourbon Steak is designed to attract their convention guests? Maybe because it’s a known brand they think more of those guests will dine there.

We needed a character meal on a Friday night for a reason that escapes me now as the trip in question was maybe as much as 15 years ago. Disney’s character meal locations were booked so we went to Garden Grove and thoroughly enjoyed the food and characters.

Haven’t been back - apparently only once on our radar

But Shula’s was also a Florida based chain. I liked it was in The Dolphin because that’s where Don Shula coached.

But it did have the best steaks on property.

(I always assumed it was tropical themed for some reason. Even though “Shula” is not a pronounceable in most Polynesian languages I guess it was close to “hula” in my mind.:rofl::rofl:)

Me just now realizing because of this conversation that the Shula was referencing Don Shula (I have not eaten there)

There is a huge mural on one of the walls inside the restaurant with Don Shula being carried off by his players at Veteran’s Stadium in Philadelphia. That’s when all the connections made sense to me

I had no idea.

Who’s Don Shula though? :woman_shrugging:
