WWYD? If my crew is ‘parked out’ on our last day of an 8 night trip, I’m thinking of booking a nice breakfast/send off meal. It’s a Sunday, so Homecoming would be on their brunch menu.
We’d be staying at BWV, so Cake Shop would be the easiest/most convenient, but we will likely have a car, so getting to AKL, WL or Disney Springs would be relatively easy.
Whispering Canyon Cafe would get us to WL, which we have no plans on visiting (during holiday timeframe). Everyone raves about BOMA and Homecoming, and going to Homecoming would allow us to do the xmas tree walk (since crowds will be terrible when we are there for a weekend dinner).
I’ve decided against a character breakfast (due to cost), but I’ve looked at the prices for all four of the above restaurants, and they are OK (Boma being the most expensive I believe).
We frequently - almost always! - do Homecomin as our sendoff meal. It allows us a relaxed, not hurried morning packing up the room and getting our bags where they need to be until it’s time to leave. We mosey around DS and do a little last minute shopping. And we’re ready to roll - ESPECIALLY when we have a car, like you will - right over to the airport.
Plus, here’s a pro-tip: leftover chicken/sandwich from Homecomin makes excellent airplane food
Thanks. Decisions, decisions. Honestly, I am not a breakfast or brunch person, but my family is. I prefer the regular menu at Homecoming, for example, to their brunch menu.
I looked at the menu awhile back for Trattoria and it doesn’t suit my crew in the same way Ale and Compass does (we are going to Ale and Compass though earlier in the week). I’ll take another look.
I’m thinking if I’m trying not to break the bank on our way out that Boma might come off. It occurred to me that it’s not all that far off from character pricing $39 vs. $49. If it came with coffee/juice I’d be more inclined.
I’ll admit, I don’t understand the love of Mickey Waffles. They seem no different than any other waffle…and waffles (and pancakes) are probably the last thing I’d choose for a breakfast!!!
Anyhow, now that I got that hot take off my chest…I am curious about the Homecomin’ brunch myself. My wife and I were thinking of trying it when we go in December…but the longest leg of our stay is only 4 nights…so is there any hope in getting Homecomin’ brunch ADR at arrival+4?
Yes, but you will probably need to be open-minded about your timing. Also check Open Table as they do some reservations on that platform. Lastly, check for walkup - very unlikely that you’d be turned away.
Not to throw a curveball but Raglan Road also has a great brunch on weekends. Dancers don’t start until… noon maybe? But good food and lots of it for the price. I saw on another thread that you were looking at RR for dinner, so throwing in the brunch option as well. And bookable on Open Table to give more flexibility in case your plans need to change that morning (given Disney’s 2 hr modify rule).
We had brunch there at 11am on a Sunday and the main stage was starting as we were leaving at 12/12:15. Looking at their entertainment calendar for this week they have musical performances starting at noon both Saturday and Sunday on the main stage. On Weekdays though entertainment doesn’t look like it starts until 4:30pm. So weekends may be where it’s at!
Re: tratorria menu. Yes. More adult. Make no mistake, it appeals to me. I would have a hard time deciding what to order there as several entrees appeal to me but I fear they’d all get boring pancakes! The location is enticing though. So convenient.
Re: ale and compass: I just know that my oldest son would order chicken and waffles, my youngest would order chocolate waffles, I would get crab cake Benedict and my mom would likely order French toast. Something for everyone!
Re: raglan road on a Sunday. Good to know entertainment available on a weekend. My challenge is this reservation is likely the shakiest (ie. Will be a game time decision).
Raglan Road is on my list of places I don’t want to miss so I fear if I book on a day that it could very well be cancelled I’d be bummed b/c my crew decides they want another ride on guardians or RnRC. I know I know, first world problems, lol.
I’m pretty sure the breakfast buffet price at Boma comes with drinks such as regular coffee, soda, iced tea, and juice. I went there December 2023 and April 2024 and I had unlimited refills of POG, milk, chocolate milk, and tea.
When I’ve gone to Disney buffets (most of them were in 2024), non specialty drinks were included in the price.
