Hello everyone! We are actually heading down to Orlando this THURSDAY (less than 2 days!) and have really enjoyed all the tips and information I have gotten from this site and from this forum.
My son and I are arriving at 835AM, taking Magical Express to Port Orleans-Riverside to activate our dining plan, and then he would really like to head to Blizzard Beach. We will start going to the main parks when my husband arrives the next day.
My question is, is going to Blizzard Beach from let’s say 1 or 2ish (give or take for travel), a bad idea? We will just be doing lazy river, wave pool, and kid areas, maybe a slide but with no pressure.
Thanks!
It’s a great idea! Believe it or not the water parks, in my experience, get less busy as the day progresses - unlike the theme parks. Plus, the hot midday sun will be going down as opposed to rising.
You should be able to arrive at you resort and be ready to have fun by Noon + a bus ride to BB. It’s a great way to start a WDW vacation - as long as you remember the sunblock!!
(I worked in theme parks for years & have seen 1,000’s of ppl walking around blistering just because they were too stubborn or lazy to protect themselves!)

Pack your bathing suits and other necessary items in your carry-on. Depending on how you check you bags at the departing airport, your room and bags may not be available until 3:00.
If you don’t check your bags all the way through, and are moving them yourself from the airport baggage carousel to the Magic Express bus boarding area, then you could possibly pull out items before handing them off to the bus driver.
