They expect you to use your barcode from your phone for it all or have a Magicband+. If your WDW band is a Magicband+ then you’re able to use it. They used to give you a paper ticket if you didn’t have a smartphone or were technically challenged and didn’t want to, but I heard reports that they no longer will offer that accommodation. Bring a cord and charging block for your phone, the battery will die by the parade if you don’t!
ETA: If you have a Magicband+ you do have to link it to the DL app to be able to use it but it doesn’t impact it being linked to your MDE already.
