Bell Services No Longer Holding Alcohol Deliveries

Our last trip they delivered my Amazon package to the room. I didn’t ask them to. I was told it was hold at counter. They charged $5, iirc. It was small boxes with neck fans. But TOTALLY worth the 5 dollars. I wonder if I would have been charged even if they didn’t bring to the room?

Last time in November 2022. Maybe they have pity on me because I always go down alone and there are clearly too many things for me to carry by myself?

What resort was it? Maybe it varies. I think I was told no at BCV. I think …

I wonder if this presents a problem with underage people having access or having to receive it. Here you can not serve alcohol under 21. I’m almost positive you can’t sign for it or accept delivery of it either.

Samesies actually!

Both WL and AKL have let me. What I was told is that it is more about people not returning them and then CMs having to then wrangle carts from all around the resort. Which I understand that frustration. Like seriously who can’t take 5 mins to return the dang cart?

have you never been in a grocery store parking lot???

Oh that makes a lot of sense. We accidentally horded a cart last week in San Diego. But we only had it from midnight when we brought our bags up until 7:30am when we brought them down, so really we were just using it for an extended period.

Interesting. I intercepted the Walmart guy in the BWI lobby before he could get to Bell, but then realized I needed a cart. Bell gave me one to use, but they acted guilty about it and were adamant I return it immediately.

The amount of drinks I have os directly related to how willing I am tonpay the $6!

At Value resorts, they will definitely give you a cart. In fact they encourage you to get a cart. There is a whole sign up system and they hold your drivers liscense so you can’t be like @Jeff_AZ (and let’s be real, my DH) and hoard a cart for the night. I don’t know that they will bring stuff to you at values unless you have special needs.

My very worst bell service experience was at Yosemite National Park. The sole bellman was chatting with a clear regular who just told him he expected his daughter to be there in 15 mins. The bellman said, “no problem, we can wait”. And they kept talking.

He wouldnt make eye contact with us, he wouldnt acknowledge our existance. We really need a cart, we had a lot of stuff. Finally I said, “um excuse me, is there a cart we could use?” And he looked at me with a look of disgust and said, “I can’t just give you a cart”. So I said, “is there a way to get our stuff to our cabin?” And he was like, “yeah, you can carry it to your cabin or wait for me to finish helping this gentleman (who was waiting for the rest ofnhis family to arrive before he unloaded his car)”.

And then they started chatting agian.

We were exhausted from driving. Had a cooler, sodas, gallon jugs of water. So I asked, “could we just get a cart, unload our stuff and leave it at bell service untill you have helped this gentleman?” He rolled his eyes and the nice man he was speaking to said, “why don’t you help this family out”.

So we loaded all our stuff on. He pushed it to our room. He and DH unloaded it. I parked the car in satellite parking and was walking back when the bellservice guy got back with the cart. And at the moment, the rest of the other family pulled up.

It amazes me how people can make you feel so small. I could wait, but being ignored was terrible.

They did delivery at Pop in March. Amazon shipped to resort, but still. I think they are back to in room delivery, for a fee.

What a horrible experience! This guy might be in the wrong profession. At least the customer spoke up. I’m sure he was imagining being treated the same way!

I think I was at Pop at a very busy time so they were like, “its going to be awhile!”

I usually love bell service, or the door attendants. Even if I don’t need their assistance, they make me feel welcome. And that makes me feel comfortable and on vacation.

Instead this guy is my strongest memory of one of the most historic National Park lodges.

As far as I know, you’ve always had to be there to accept alcohol. I know Amazon Fresh requires you to meet the driver and show ID.

Well I don’t drink, so no impact  I believe we have only been charged by Bell Services when they deliver to the room. …at CBR we got a ride out of it too, so we had no issue  (we had a case of water …and you know for far spread out that resort is)

I wasn’t charged in June at FW and we had a ton of groceries and of course they need a special van to deliver it and it’s far.
