hey. I understand that DME drops you off at CR, and although apparently BLT has its own check in desk, it closes at 10 pm. if I check in online will I be able to access BLT from the 4th floor “bridge”?

I guess I was thinking that since we are getting in late, we would get milk at fantasia market and pack some cheerios in the suitcase and just take the bridge over to blt. couldnt remember what level the market was on

Market is on the 4th floor of CR. Same as the bridge.

Yeah if that’s your intent that’s a good plan. Otherwise it’s. Ore walking and elevator/escalator than necessary
and that’s my real question…if you are entering blt from bridge you have to have magic band access, right? and I am hoping if I check in online I will have that access
If I am remembering correctly, you are right, the market is on the 4th floor near the bridge. What time are you arriving? The market closes at 11? You will be pulling your luggage, and I don’t know if you want to get it up to the 4th floor, then across the bridge, and then up the elevator to your room?
I know the small desk as you enter BLT was closed but honestly I don’t remember the main desk being closed at 10?

You don’t need you MB (or at least I never did) to use the bridge. Maybe that was during the day?
well should be landing at 830 which is generally my own cut off for luggage retrieval. so maybe I’ll just get my own luggage arrive whenever and get breakfast at contempo cafe sunday morning…no big.

Your MB should give you full access if you do online checkin. We did have one of our three that never worked on the room door, but worked everywhere else.

That sounds like it should work, but I have always checked in at the front desk of BLT to get my magic bands up and running so I don’t know for sure if your plan will work.

Again, I don’t know for sure, but my memory is that the main desk was open well after 10 pm.

If you arrive while the check-in desk is open, DME will drop you at Bay Lake Tower.
And the main desk at BLT is open 24 hrs. They just don’t do check-ins 24/7.
You should need it! The door is locked to prevent people simply wandering over. Obviously many people hold the door for others etc, but we usually have to tap in.
And to the OP again, if you arrive whilst the BLT check-in is closed, you should have access to the bridge assuming your magic band is properly set up. If it doesn’t open the bridge, it likely wouldn’t open your room door anyway.

It was never locked in August. I don’t remember if I used it at night but I was surprised.
Explain why you wouldn’t want people wandering over???
I visit all kinds of resorts at which I am not a guest on my trips…
The door leads to the terrace and bridge to Bay Lake. According to the Contemp concierge, the Terrace is supposed to be for Contemp and Bay Lake guests for fireworks viewing, not those who wander in to the resort.
