I dunno what on earth they were doing for the last year while the resort stayed closed, but they didn’t give these rooms the overhaul the other All Star resorts got.
Here’s a tweet from touringplans with pics of the refresh, not refurb:
Thoughts??

I asked on Twitter and sent a message to confirm but after looking at that 5 times last night I think we can confirm there is no coffee maker in that room?
I didn’t hear that but that would make these the ONLY rooms without some kind of coffee machine yes?
I’m shocked they went with carpeting again.
And the bed situation vs the murphy…
But still $180/nt? Yikes.
A ex co-worker contacted me last month. She has been planning a last minute trip and Sports were the only rooms available under $350 a night all month so I spent time yesterday looking for info on the opening. Her under 3 and 6 year old sons will love it but boy I was expecting more. Even the Little Mermaid rooms with the soft refurb seemed like an upgrade, these don’t.
Did they do anything? They look exactly the same. Exactly.
Ho. Ly. Sh!t. That is bananas. That has got to be the most egregious Chapeking I’ve seen.
I NEVER book ASSp, This insures i never will.
Also they are the same price as the other all stars which is such a crock.
And yet, ASSports is still filling up at times. Right NOW it isn’t a problem, because they are still filling up hotels. But as demand wanes, it might prove more difficult to get people to book here.
In other news…I just noticed that right now, Disney is offering a “discount” on rooms. I haven’t been paying attention…but I thought they were booking a full rack-rate. The fact that there is an incentive…is that a sign that Disney is beginning to see a reduction of demand, even slightly?
The offers seem to be good really only on the most expensive rooms. So I am hopeful that there is some pullback by the general public
Ugh. I’m going to change hotels for my arrival night now. Sports is actually my favorite All Star so I was looking forward to staying there, but not in that condition.
Having never stayed anywhere on property before, but needing to for upcoming June trip, I was pleasantly surprised that I got All Star Movies for $161 a night. Not that much more than an IHG (though no breakfasts).
Hotels everywhere are stupidly expensive right now.
ETA - that said - those pictures (I realized I could look at them enlarged) that room looks super dumpy.
Controlling inventory to inflate costs. But I only say that b/c I am cynical and dead inside.
Ok so looking into changing my room I noticed the standard rooms at all 3 AS resorts are the same price, but the preferred rooms at Sports are $13 cheaper for the night I’ll be there. I wonder if they have finished the standard rooms, but still working on the preferred rooms. It would be nice if they said if there was any active construction there.
Touring Plans did show pictures of additional work being done. The thing is you do not replace carpet, bedding, furniture and then do a full refurb. Chrissy posted this was updated.
I hate they share so much on Instagram. I don’t have it and wouldn’t use it as my main source of info when I pay for their website. Total tangent I know, but that ish really pisses me off.
Yes, if you see the comments on the Twitter I think my early morning question is there, and then I started looking at other places. The coffee maker (I know- stupid of me) is a big deal for me.
It’s not stupid. Especially when every other room on property has something.
Is almost as important as the bed!!
