AP upgrade question about block out dates

If I buy a five day ticket, use that ticket for a date that is blocked out by a particular AP, but then try to upgrade to that AP before the end of my stay, will they let me? I would actually be looking to do this at Disneyland, but I’m posting here because I know it will get more views and answers. I don’t know if the answer would differ on one coast versus the other.

If the system is working properly, you can only upgrade to an AP/Magic Key that is valid for the dates that were used before the conversion. So say you used the ticket on any weekend in July, then that ticket can only be used to upgrade to an Inspire key.

If anything, Disneyland is more of a stickler for these rules than WDW is, and WDW don’t play!

I had a feeling that was the answer. It may be cheaper to buy the Believe and just pay for that one day. Assuming any other trips will not be over blackout dates.

I think the bigger concern is if they will even be selling them. They don’t tend to stay available long for DL.

Looks like they will be back on sale next week:

Yes but they haven’t been staying on sale for long each time they release them. If you time it right it could work out though
