All Stars

Hello!
Taking my nieces to WDW next month; it will be their first time! (7 and 9 yo)
I’ve been 5 times but have never seen the Christmas decorations… so I’m super excited too!

We’re getting two rooms… our options are AS Music or AS Sports. At Music… we have a choice of standard or preferred for $130 upgrade for 5 nights (about $26 per night).

At Sports, only standard rooms are available.

It is my understanding that Sports was the last to be refurbished.

Transportation- is there an AS that is the last to be picked up and first to be dropped off from all parks? Any have direct busses to and from parks?
I would love your feedback please.

I consider Preferred Music to be roughly equivalent to Standard Sports. Music is more spread out so you need a preferred room to be on even footing.

Sports is a teeny bit closer to the parks so in the rare circumstance you are sharing a bus with the other AS, it will be the first drop off.

I’ve stayed at Movies and Music. As I understand it, the rooms at all three are essentially identical. They were refurbished within a year or two of each other.

My experience is that each resort had its own bus. Sports is marginally closer to the parks.

I think preferred rooms are a scam. They are closer to the main building, but is the shorter walk really worth a $26 a night premium?

Besides, a longer walk means you see more of the great theming of the resorts.

Sports is the popular choice. First pick up and drop off.

I love the All Starts Resorts! My girls (8 and 10) are huge fans of the Murphy beds - it’s something they only ever see at Disney and think is the coolest thing in the world.

I’ve stayed at all three and concur with the advice to go with ASSp over Music (unless you have a huge preference for the Music theme). The standard rooms at ASSp are much closer to transportation/food court than the ones at Music (in fact, if you’re in buildings 9/10 in AASp, you can walk pretty quickly to Music transportation and food court too). Music is just a much more spread-out resort, and the walk can feel long after a day at the parks. Rooms and amenities are identitical.

I spent two nights at ASSp last weekend, and 5 out of the 6 bus trips that I took had a dedicated bus (when I asked about shared buses, two bus drivers told me that buses are not usually shared between the three resorts). In the two previous trips, I had no shared buses - always direct from that resort to parks. As others have said ASSp is the one closest to the front of that cluster of resorts, so probably 1 minute shorter ride to/from parks, but not enough to make any real difference.

Have a great trip!
