Again and again!

I only lurk here when I am trip planning or the FOMO causes serious issues. But I am trip planning! (I think).

Contemplating a last minute, two day trip in March with my adult son. He hasn’t seen Tron or Guardians yet. Sadly we missed RNRC. That was his first big kid coaster. Anyway, back in the day I could score multiple rides on our favorites by stalking the drops (FOP x 4 one day!). Then came the infamous double tap. Disney has made that impossible now so I need a new plan for repeat rides. What is the best way to score repeats for guardians and tron on our mini trip?

Plan is stay at swolphin

Saturday MK

Sunday HS (for GE stuff mostly) then Epcot for some flowers and beverages.

Signed,

Intermittent Liner

Are you referring to the old Fast pass system (Circa 2020)?

If so then that capability is no longer available in the current Lightning Lane Multi Pass system. You are limited to one LLMP reservation per day. For multi rides of an attraction you would need to intermix one LLMP reservation with multiple uses of the traditional Stand-By line.

If you create a Custom Touring Plan and indicate you want to ride multiple times, the Optimzer with find the times of the day to visit an attraction to minimize you overall wait in the queue.

Since you are limited to one LLSP each day for Tron and GotG, the only way to repeat using LL is to park hop between MK and EP and ride each once a day with LL. Then use RD and park close to get short standby waits for each. This way you could get as many as four rides on each over two days.

Without park hopping, you could get three rides on each with RD, LL, and park close. Plus more if you are willing to wait an hour during the day.

Great point from @Jeff_AZ. LLMP does not cover select rides at each park (I.e. Tron or GotG) and would require the purchase of Lightning Lane Single Pass, which is still limited to once per day.

With one day at MK and a 1/2 day at EP are you just looking for twice on each?

How are the predicted crowd levels on your days?

MK I’d buy one a LL* and plan to hit Tron as it was opening. Or as Jeff says, hit it up again at the very end of the night.
For EP I would just RD GOTG (but it sounds like you are starting at HS?) and then buy an LL*.

*I am not likely to buy a LL because I am a standby person. But for your trip, I would utilize it.

My family also missed the repeatability that we lost when we went from FP to FPP and now to this system.

Yeah, FOP x 4 was the old FP system. I know LL no longer lets us do re-rides. There was a fun double book hack 2-3 years ago but I know they closed that loophole. My last trip was 18 months ago so I thought I’d check to see if any new Liner hacks had emerged.

Sadly, I hadn’t even thought of hopping between MK and EP as part of this strategy. Of course, I started trip planning a whopping 15 minutes before making this post. Hopefully, it would have occurred to me at some point.

Was about to start researching RD tron. I think when I was there last they were not opening for EE?

Will have to contemplate a late night ride on GotG. May not be my best plan after drinking at festival booths!

Correct, Tron is not open for EE. So you would want to make that a secondary rope drop option rather than waiting all the way through EE (which some people do). Not worth it IMO.

CLs 5-6 both days. I think we are planning to RD HS day 2 with the intention of finishing the day at EPCOT sampling the festival booth goodies.

Definitely buying LLSP once for each ride but trying to think of my strategy for repeats. I may have to do like @Jeff_AZ said and buy both rides for both days.

Is it open during EE now?

I don’t know. When we went it opened an hour later, so we just headed that way after doing 7DMT and PP.

If Guardians and Tron were my priorities, I would RD GOTG, LL GOTG, monorail to MK, LL Tron, and do standby Tron during fireworks/park close. Then spend day 2 at HS and the Epcot festival area (and ride GOTG a third time at park close if wanted).

This assumes you can get a early-ish LL for GOTG, of course.

Ooh that’s a fun strategy. We’re staying at Swolphin so we’d be RDing from IG. Probably won’t beat main entrance crowd. But my 53 year old butt can still walk with purpose. Would you still go for it?

As far as getting an early LLSP for GotG are there any great tricks? I could score BG1 through BG1 back in the VQ days. Not sure how to hack my way to a good time now.

The trick to getting an early LLSP is for that day to be as late in your onsite stay as possible. But with a short trip you’ll just have to take what you can get. I find that early afternoon is a good time for LLSP. Use it when all the other lines are long.

I can’t say I’ve ever tried to RD GOTG from IG. I believe some of the YouTubers have tried fairly recently due to the change in RD procedure at Epcot though. Seems like a lot of walking to me. I think someone else mentioned Ubering to the main gate in another thread.

When I use a ride share company at WDW, I use Lyft because they have an agreement with Disney and are allowed to drop you off closer to entrance than Uber who drops you off pretty far back. If time and/or foot steps matters-use Lyft not Uber.
