Some of the extra space, at least at SSR, is “wasted” by making the bathroom area larger. So the living space itself doesn’t necessarily seem a whole lot larger.

Well, as a grown adult that still cries when she leaves Disney, I’d say that if you’re going to be a nerd for something, you’ve picked a good topic!!!

The Black Friday sales heard you and sure enough managed to get reduction in the cost of Pop. So three options wrt cost for 8 days are (and I’m going to do British pounds as that’s what my brain works in!):

Off site, Wyndham garden lake BV = £1001

Pop = £1495

OKW = £1950

£500 ~ $650

SS seems to be an extra £200 on OKW based on the quote I got today, so will discount that one.

I can cancel Pop until 1 April. I’m getting the impression that it’s likely that availability at OKW will continue for some time, and given the reduced flexibility in T&Cs that I might be better to wait for a while yet to make the final decision….

I’m guessing you’re looking at Attraction Tickets for the BF sale? They have some great deals. :slightly_smiling_face:

With regards to DVC rentals - are you concerned about changing your mind, or about something happening that would make you cancel the trip?

If it’s the latter, I saw this trip insurance mentioned for UK - looks like it covers “direct rental” costs for timeshares:

  • my family chooses to get trip insurance instead of relying on any of the “cancel and get a partial credit” options (luckily, we haven’t had to test it)

You should be able to rent OKW / SSR from a broker for $20/point (not sure if there are international surcharges), which I think is a little cheaper than you listed?

My quick list of DVC pros / cons (some of these are repeats :sweat_smile:):
Pros:

  • Pool with slide
  • Hot tub
  • Extra evening hours
  • Bigger rooms
  • Kitchenette / real mini-fridge
  • Boat and walking path to Disney Springs

Cons:

  • Condo feel / sprawling / interior bus loop (can be mitigated)
  • More expensive
  • May not feel as Disney? I recommend watching YouTube and deciding for yourself
  • No Skyliner - although Pop is a little less convenient because of transfers required? (that said, I love the Skyliner)
  • OKW quick service probably is the weakest (really enjoyed Olivia’s for table service breakfast)
