30-min wait for Remy on early entry rope-drop?

I’m working on a personalized plan for EPCOT, and will be taking the Skyliner from the hotel to International Gateway. TP is telling me that even if we rope drop Remy on early themepark entry, it’s a 30 min wait. Is this accurate??

Probably. We rope dropped from the IG near the front of the pack, and it was around that wait. (Actually longer, because they had a delayed opening.)

It really entirely depends where you end up in the mass of humanity that heads directly there. Lots of people claim it as a walk-on. For my part both times I RD it it was a good 30 minutes wait. And we weren’t that far back in the queue at the park entranc (IG)

I just checked the time stamps on my pics from earlier this month. We were at IG at 8 and on Remy at 8:50.

Still worth the rope drop imo.

In September, we were at IG at 7:20ish for an 8 am opening. Were on the ride by 8:04. I remember counting how many people were in front of us in line as we went through the switchbacks and there were about 42 people in front of us.

Oops. August, not September. Our next trip is September.

Oof thanks  This is my first time going with a toddler, and my first time going since 2016 (eek).

I’m glad to be going back finally, but yeah… I still miss FP+

Highly rec rope dropping it. We did but then my magic band wouldn’t work so we got pushed back in line. Ugh! Still had plenty of time and get to frozen before the main opening.

I would not plan on being able to be at the front of the line for a Remy RD with a toddler. Toddlers have a way of slowing things down. I would plan on the 30 minute wait and if it is shorter, then even better.

If we don’t have early entry, are we too late and/or would we have better success with fastpass?

I assume you mean G+ LL. Yes, if you don’t have early entry, you will save time by grabbing a Remy LL at 7:00 am. Depends on whether the cost of G+ is worth it to you.

Yes, sorry I still think of it as fast pass so I can differentiate it from LL

Also, I assume the 7am is based upon sttaying at an on site hotel which we unfortunately didn’t get to do…

No, I believe everyone with G+ for that day can book LL starting at 7:00 am. For ILL, only on-site guests can start booking at 7:00 am. I’ve only stayed on-site since the introduction of G+ so hopefully another poster can confirm that my understanding is correct.

Correct.

You can book Remy at 7am because it is part of Genie+, no longer an ILL.

ILL, such as Cosmic Rewind, on the other hand, you can only book at park opening, if still available, if you are offsite. You can, however, book the virtual queue at 7am if you have an Epcot APR.
