We plan to go to WDW parks 3 days in a row, but since the 3 day WDW tickets are good for 3 days within a 5 day period, the price can vary by a few bucks per ticket depending on what I pick as the “first day”. Should I pick the “first day” of the period that covers my 3 days with the cheapest ticket price? Or do we have have to go to a WDW park on the “first day” of the ticket period? It’s only about a $20 variance for the family in total so not a big deal … but $20 savings is $20.

Pretty sure you can go any 3 days within the 5-day period.

Yes, I believe if you use the TP ticket calculator will automatically start on the cheapest day. You do not need to go to the park on the first day.
