2026 Epic Epic Trip planning plus bonus Orlando activities

I totally agree with that

Doing a show day today, since this is a non-EP day. Before today and this trip we had only seen Untrainable Dragon.
Bourne was much better than I remembered

So excited

Ooh tell us how it goes!

It was awesome and the line wasn’t too long at all. Done and in Untrainable dragon now.
Shortly before we got to the front, Hiccoup left and we got a random viking named Durk that tended sheep. But we were there for Toothless

Also based on the wait times, I had decided we would skip toothless. But the line was short and we had time to kill. So bonus!

Today’s maps seem to indicate that DK Mine Cart opened at 9 but BatM did not. I dislike that it’s not consistent. What are your plans today?

Queue for Bowser’s challenge didn’t start until joined with standby

I was going to post a photo of DH’s amazing MIB score. 780k+. I took a photo but the score is blank. Won’t be able to do it again. The ride stopped and we were able explore what gave a good score. There was a red framed door with an alien hiding behind flaps. Hitting him gave 25k.
At the end it said we were galactic defenders, then showed us the suit and did NOT wipe our brain. Totally awesome, even if we sort of cheated. But we weren’t the cause of the stop.
About half of our previous rides I would be way behind and then in that room I would jump ahead. My plan has been to Spray and Pray. I must have hit that once or twice

It wasn’t cheating. It was an opportunistic win. They should stop the game interactions when the ride stops for more than a couple seconds. Or at least stop the scoring.

Normally DH does pretty badly on MIB. His Dad taught sniping in the Marines. The setup is just realistic enough that his Dad’s training kicks in and he has to actually know what he is shooting at. ( rolls eyes )

But once he had a target, he nailed it. DD and I only got 180k+. DH also usually nails the red area on the other car.

Three-park EP’s park order. We have done every reasonable park order for EP days. This is my thoughts.
If you are able to use all park hours, e.g. maybe 13 hours, then start at the first park to open and end at Epic.
If the open park hours will be enough for you if you start at Epic and end at IOA, there is something extremely satisfying about the first ride being BotM during EA, and the last ride being Hagrid’s.

On Epic dining and the mobile ordering. I really love the system. We usually look at menus anyway before deciding what to eat. This way we can decide what we want while in a line, and place the order. A favorite way for us to eat is to order one thing at a time and sharing each, so multiple courses. The mobile ordering works well with that. Also love that you prepay so you don’t have to wait around for a bill. The photos of the food make it look half as much as it is. For example, last night we ate at Pizza Moon. I love vodka sauce. The photo made the portion look quite small, so I ordered pizza to have leftovers since we were leaving right after. But later I saw the dishes and they were substantial. Would have totally had leftovers. Same with the Jager schnitzel, the portion was big. Although it was very overcooked.

What have been your favorite foods/places to eat overall?

Have you only been driving to the parks and in between parks or taking the shuttle bus? How’s the travel been? How much time does it take?

I am shocked that it is the French cafe. The Onion soup was the best I ever had. Also, like one of the other Harry Potter restaurants the breakfasts come with a drink, and the drinks were normal-sized. I can be bribed to like a place with an included hot butterbeer.
We really enjoyed the Mac and cheese cones. I recommend asking for a tray also. Even if you aren’t sharing it makes eating it easier. The original is a bit plain but the one with bacon is awesome.
At the Goblet Noir we liked everything we had except for the Jagerschnitzel. In hindsight that was probably asking too much of a park. There we enjoyed the sampler platter, the shaved beef sandwich, the cod and the goulash, although that was a little bland probably to include kids.
At pizza moon, if they don’t have a wood-fired brick oven they have something that it as good. Crust was excellent. DD had the pizza with the different crust made out of a purple root vegetable that was really good. I had the pepperoni, and DH had the hot one.

We have been driving. It takes us 15 minutes to get to either park from our condo and 30 minutes from park exit to park entrance which includes the trudge through City Walk. We save a bit of time leaving the parking lot because DH walks fast to the car and then brings it to the nearest elevator.

Queue official estimates.
Several times there has been an announcement while we are in a queue to ‘fill in all available space in front of us’. That is completely ignored by everyone. We couldn’t figure out why they cared, since there has always been unused interior queue lines. Then while in the mine cart queue the announcement added ‘to get an accurate wait time estimate’. The light bulb went off. If they are using AI, it isn’t working well or maybe it is still learning and using the older ‘end of the line Here means X many people in line. Computers are really good at counting, so I don’t know what the problem is.

Post-lockdown people really like their personal bubble and we don’t crowd in like we used to. For example, Atlanta has noticed that their outdoor events have less people even when full because people leave more space. DH said one of the people he listens to has commented that NYC isn’t as crowded now, and it isn’t because of less people. If people don’t have to enter a crowd, they won’t and will eat at a different restaurant, for example.
I realized that my personal bubble has always been like is standard now and I love that people are giving each other space. I remember when I’d go to SFOT alone as a preteen, I’d sometimes stand in the queue facing completely forward with one hand on each rail pretending the person crowding me from behind wasn’t there. I remember wondering several times if the person behind me thought they could get on quicker if they crowded me. As a family, DH tends to be last in line and he wears the backpack.

Yesterday as we drove back to the condo DH commented “A short day. Only 10 hours”.

When we get home, I am not leaving the house for at least a week except to go to work and church and I am not walking or standing except to and from the car. My feet are fine, no blisters or anything, but they are tired. 10 hours was legitimately a short day.

I have really enjoyed all the details you’ve provided in your post about your trip and experience! Thank you for allowing us to follow along.

I was wondering if you could give any insight to how long you have to wait to get tables? I hear it can be a line/wait to get a table sometimes.
