2026 Epic Epic Trip planning plus bonus Orlando activities

I wish they would go ahead with APs and release multi-day tickets for next year that include Epic. I check every day!

It’s still freaking cheaper to add another day now! It’s $180ish for a day ticket and $250+ for Express Pass!

That’s crazy!

The multi day ticket included in packages for 2026 are for any park. I’m thinking by January they will be available for ticket only.

We bought multi-day tickets starting Jan 2nd for theoretically all four parks. I say theoretically, because of course VB is closed then.

I’m leaning towards hoping that they delay adding on AP’s until after our trip. And that it takes people some time to notice that the packages include unlimited Epic days. We picked out vacation days to work around DD’s dual enrollment college schedule. But it would be nice if we went during a lull in crowds.

On the other hand, if they add AP’s before our trip we might get one or all of us an AP and cancel a/all of our tickets. But then DD is 15 and starting to get busy so I don’t know if/when we could go back. No reason to get AP’s if we can’t go back.

ETA: The price of tickets plus parking is $707 per person. There is a chance we could make that cheaper by getting one person the preferred (which includes parking) and the other two the seasonal pass.

Sort of related, since this trip was the motivation. But, I decided to change my eating, and looking better in the Epic Epic trip photos was the kick-in-the-pants. My Mom is digging through photos to prepare for the photo video at Dad’s Memorial. She’s been texting me photos. Which got me thinking about photos. Trip is in 4 months. Don’t expect to be anywhere near ideal weight, but better will be nice. They say it is helpful if you tell people, so …

True. I wish you the best of luck! Eating better makes you healthier.

I don’t know how they can. Universal has been sending out surveys to AP holders. We have 3 APs we need to renew next month. Right now, if I have an AP I can’t purchase an epic ticket without paying for park tickets myAP already covers?

WTG! You’ve got this.

Can’t AP holders buy one-day tickets to Epic right now? That should continue until at least Epic can be added to AP’s.

The change in January is that for multi-day tickets instead of for example 3 days at the two legacy parks and 1 day at Epic. The tickets are for 4 days at the three parks.

I could only buy them for 2025 (just tried again). If another AP has had a different experience I woukd love to know how it worked. I can get a discounted room for 2926.

That is bad news for me. It means they’re leaning towards adding Epic to AP’s in 2026. If they let people with AP’s buy one-day tickets for Epic, and then later added unrestricted Epic access based on AP’s for the same dates, those people would want refunds. By not selling the tickets, they are keeping their options open.

I would go ahead and reserve the room at the AP rate. Worst case, you can always cancel it.

I have booked our AP hotels for 2026, easy to cancel if need be. I don’t see that non package tickets are available to anyone for 2026 yet. I’m assuming 3 months out for those. I do expect AP to include EPIC in early 2026 although I would not mind if they delayed it, because I do think the crowds will be worse. I would also assume that they will do some sort of add on option for those who are in the middle of their AP year. Are you saying that you’re not sure about renewing because you would have to buy the single day tickets later?

I’m pondering what I will do if Epic is on AP’s as of 1/1/26. I feel Disney Math creeping in.

If the Epic-included Preferred Pass is less than $1000-ish, it would be cheaper for us to get one of those for the free standard parking. But then the preferred passes include early entry. Sweet sweet early entry that we won’t get otherwise being off-site. So, now I am guesstimating how much more the preferred pass will be over our ticket, and then dividing by the number of days of our trip and figuring that as the cost of early entry. What to do, what to do. Darn Disney Math.

We did love early entry before. We’d go to the Harry Potter area during it, and then vacate when the crowds arrived.

Have you priced AP onsite hotels?

We are doing a long trip, and we’ve learned that on a long trip we need three interior rooms with doors. We need to each have our private space for rest times. DH uses the living room, and DD and I each use a bedroom. Otherwise we start to grate on each other, and rest times aren’t that restful, and we just want to go home. So, for this trip we have an offsite airBnB. I guess we could theoretically get a two-bedroom suite onsite but we don’t have that kind of money for a long trip.

In the past we’ve stayed at RP and HR for the EP’s, and Cabana Bay for easy VB access. For an Epic focused January trip, neither applies.

We went to Six Flags Over Texas, our home park, yesterday. It made me glad our upcoming Epic Epic trip is a long one. We have a relaxed touring style. For example, we didn’t ride one of our favorites, Texas Giant because when we went to it first, it wasn’t up yet. That was A-OK because we know we’ll ride it in a couple of weeks when we go back. We didn’t even bother trying again later that day. We were there for 4-5 hours and left happy.

Fall is an ideal time for a park in Texas. Crowds were even minimal since Fright Fest is starting soon.

We have a Six Flags all park pass and we’re hoping to come next fall to do the Universal Kids resort and a Six Flags park there! Although I am unsettled by the lack of information available about the kids park. So who knows. Is your Six Flags open in the winter? We are the same with our home park. Just go for a few hours, have some fun, go home. Come back in a few weeks.

It is open weekends and holidays after summer. You might want to look at this year’s calendar to get a feel for next year. Fright Fest starts middle of Sept. They already had some of the decorations up last weekend. They also do some Octoberfest stuff. Then the weekend after Halloween they start to switch over to Holiday In The Park.

Last year both Fright Fest and HINP were awesome. In some past years (thinking lockdown time) they didn’t do so much. Honestly, if it weren’t for those two festivals, we probably won’t get passes. I noticed that even the non-upgraded season pass included all the parks. When you know you are definitely coming, feel free to ask for info. I grew up in Arlington and never left the area. I’ve spent mucho time there since I was a kid.

My wife and I did this last October and it was pretty fun! Not sure what it is like in January though.
