Yeah, it’s so weird to think of a Pacific hurricane going up into AZ (but as a much lessor depression). This is the site I like to use for getting the details on how much rain has actually fallen in our area of AZ. You just click on the time interval you want to see, and there will be data for each of the little + sign locations.
I saw just the headline of Priscilla and I was wondering how we skipped J-O! But then I saw the Pacific piece.
Hopefully Jerry stays wayyy away from you all @Jeff_AZ !
Well his fan is in Disney right now
so it should be pretty far away from them.
Blink and you’ll miss it!
Invest 96-L became Subtropical Storm Karen late Thursday night. And now, this evening, just one day later, it has weakened and become Post-Tropical Cyclone Karen. This is the last NHC advisory about Karen. Karen got a lot of attention for being the northernmost system in Atlantic history to be designated as a tropical or a subtropical storm by the National Hurricane Center. NHC didn’t start naming subtropical storms until 2002, so it’s a short history.
What’s Jerry’s latest track?
Thanks! Glad to see it is weak and staying far away. That is a very austere turn.
Looks like Jerry will likely not form into a hurricane. And Karen is the northernmost named storm ever. She strengthened just enough to be named, and then fizzled out.
It’s my little one’s sailing week at school is this coming week and she was saying she’s hoping for strong winds. We’re all like"shhhh!!! it’ll hear you".
No named storms, currently. But there’s a new disturbance that looks likely to form. Its chances are 40% within 48 hrs, 50% within 7 days. Fortunately, it’s yet another storm that looks to be turning to the right and staying way out in the Atlantic.
This has increased in likelihood of forming. Its chances are 60% within 48 hours, 70% within 7 days. At least it is still staying away from the US.
Crap I’m up next now.
Ditto.
I don’t know why I thought you were Melanie! Hopefully we can just pull a Karen.
That’d be good. I hadn’t been paying attention to the upcoming names. J and K were both DH’s close relatives, so how appropriate to put me in there, too!
Jerry is what my name sounds like when pronounced by a drunk southern grandpa.
Scary fact!!! And very weird.
