Anyhow, once you make the request, you should stop using the card…although, if you earn anything after that it would probably be minimal unless you make some huge purchase!

Alternatively, leave the minimum rewards in your rewards bank, while still ordering your card. Then, just before it’s time to start using the rewards card, transfer the remaining rewards, including whatever you’ve earned in the interim, onto the card.

Anyone have experience? Once you make your FIRST request, how long does it take for the card to arrive in the mail?

As for when they become available, they post within 2-3 days I think? And after that, once you have enough points, you request your rewards card and that takes about 2-3 weeks to get to you.

So my understanding is I need to get that rewards card ahead of time, and then load it up further as we get closer?

Yup. Exactly how you do it. No need to constantly keep reloading, though. Just let them sit in the account until you’re sure the card won’t be generating any more points from purchases. Then dump the remaining points onto the rewards card all at once.

Thanks for suggesting that I give Chase a call- I did and they referred it up the food chain to account management. We’re good Chase customers so I thought I might have a chance- and got the notice in the mail today to just give them a call when the $200 credit is applied, and they’d add another $50!
