I think you will be fine. It is not quite like an airplane where people are rushing. If you need to rifle in your bag for something, just let the people behind you pass. There are not a ton of moving parts though.
When your cruise ship is assigned a terminal (which it may already be, but you can definitely find that out when you have your Port Arrival Form), let us know. I found it very helpful to look at the map and figure out exactly where I would go. Having done a cruise from Port Canaveral recently, I can help walk you through the process with the location so you will be able to visualize how it will all go.
Oh, thank you! I will look for that info and report back!
All this information is quite helpful. I love having this forum. I will start making a notes list.
Ignore most of the “must have cruise packing lists”. It only leads to over packing. I find the magnetic hooks a must. We use them to hang swim cover ups and swimsuits. We take refillable water bottles. I have a teen boy who is not going to dress up so he wears whatever is comfortable.
Looking at excursions now. I will have DS18 and DD16 with my DH and I, senior graduation trip. I have read conflicting reviews of excursions with DCL from Reddit, FB, and others. We will have stops at Cozumel, George Town, and Falmouth. As this is his graduation trip, DS18 has only mentioned he is more interested in cultural things, if we do excursions. I have looked at Falmouth and really didn’t have anything grab my attention, and I have read reviews that Jamaica is not great with excursions and many people use that as a ship day.
What suggestions do you have for any of these ports?
Oh, I almost forgot. Do you prefer to get travel insurance with Disney or do you go with a 3rd party?
I usually use Square Mouth to shop for a policy. The Disney one is probably fine but I usually like to get one that includes my entire trip, including non-cruise portions, for a similar price or less.
I had been looking as Square Mouth. The prices seem better with a little increase in the actual coverage.
I use insuremytrip and pick the option that fits my needs the best.
At Grand Cayman and Cozumel, I’d have no problem doing an excursion that’s not through the ship. All of the Caribbean ports are pretty touristy and only offer a small slice of local culture.
