Food question

We just booked our first family cruise on the Disney Dream for Sept 2018. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been on a cruise so I don’t remember a lot. As far as the food goes, what exactly is included? I know basic meals are, but what about snacks? Like the ice cream shop, coffee shop, etc., are those an extra charge?

So Disney has an ice cream bar and coffee / soda is free. Alcohol is always extra and treats from some of the individual shops is not included as well. However something that is included is ALWAYS open so you certainly will not starve.

There is an upgrade to some restaurants. I do recommend PALO - it is very nice.

To answer your question - yes the coffee shop / treats at the coffee shop on the lobby mezzanine is EXTRA

Deck 9 has a variety (salads, wraps, bowls, shwarma’s, burgers and hot-dogs) of food options for lunch, snacks, even alternative-dinner (?). All free. They have simple soft-serve ice cream there as well.
.
I believe Cove Cafe (for adults) has “free” pastry and baked goods but the coffee and teas one buys there are at a nominal charge.
